Today I felt so bored after two full days of entertaining guests who came to my house. Woke up in the morning and did my normal house chores, cleaning washing etc. etc...After lunch I had an idea of visiting FRIM ( Forest Research Institute , Malaysia). It is a place that I wanted to visit for a long time but i had nobody to go there with ..Today I guess it was my courageous day..I tried to enjoy my solitude by going to FRIM alone. It was not bad at all.. There are so many to be seen and so much to learnt about the Forest. Here I attached some pictures of my short visit to the place

Yesterday my sister sent me a picture of my two darlings, my nephew and my niece ( her kids) Mifzal and Madiha. Looking at them sometimes I wish they remain as cute forever. I was so touched by their innocence and tears just filled my eyes without me knowing it. To Grandpa Trevor if you see this...i know you will feel the same way..who won't anyway. Mifzal please grow up to be a good brother to Madiha. Both of you Mifzal and Madiha, please grow up to be good children to you mum and Dad...To Lina and Ed continue to be good parents...I know sometimes their mischieves can be up to yr nerves but they are just blessings to you both...their "creativity" and unpredicatble emotion are just stages of growing up for them just as how we went through at one stage in time...Remember it takes a genius parents to handle two geniuses...Keep up the good work. No matter what, anchor them to the good root. Love you all.

Hehehe! I always find it is hard to clean the carpet in the main area so I decided to buy a dining table so that the food will only be taken to the table instead of in front of the TV in the lounge. Before this I thought it would take up a lot of space...Well I bought it anyway and i find it is just nicely fit. Then it is enough i think...No more furniture...( That is what I said last time)...hehehe.

Yesterday I spent the whole morning getting rid og the old stuffs that I haven't used for years...It is pretty hard to get rid of them..but I did..(only half).Then the mopping and the wiping...Tired but I am happy....My home looked so refreshed. To me home should be the most comfortable sanctuary. Even though my home is not garnished with expensive fancy things, i make sure it is clean and tidy...Home Sweet Home.

Today I gave a call to my Australian family. They are now voluntarily hosting 6 of our University students for a study trip program to Australia. My proffesor Dr Gaudart and I worked very hard to make sure they could go to Australia. Yesterday they have reached Sunshine Coast safely. From the sound of their voices, I believe they are having a good time. To Dad, thanks so much for everything you have done for us. I attach some photos I took when I was in Ubud. I was lucky to be able to witness a unique Balinese cremation ceremony. According to the locals, all hindus have to be cremated, however since the ceremony is so grand and costly the family member who died first is kept in a family temple in their house compound until the second or third death. The higher their rank in the society, the taller the pagoda they carry during the procession. It was told that during the royal cremation ceremony the pagoda was so tall that they had to cut down a lot of trees and electric cables to give ways to the procession. It was indeed a big occasion that road has to be closed but for Balinese it is a normal parade that they should respect. To my suprise cremation which normaly is a sad occassion in other places was a very joyful ones in Bali where all family members get together to celebrate the final journey of the deceased to Heaven. To me, the best thing about travelling is you learn to appreciate the diversity of beautiful cultures of the world which ultimately brings us together as one, living in peace and harmony.

First Warning

Two weeks ago I was warned by my own body that i need to really take care of my own health. I went for a comprehensive blood test...Mmmm no good. My sugar level was reaching the borderline and my cholestrol level was shockingly high. The doctor asked me to take take cholestrol lowering drugs but the other doctor said i must diet and wait for the second blood test. But finally i took my friend's advice to go on diet with a few supplements. The supplements I am taking now are fish oil 1000mg and red yeast rice. I stop taking sugar...now I am using Equals to replace my suagr intake if i need to taste "sugar". Oat for breakfast and snack...a lot of fruits and limt rice intake for only once a day but my diet go on "break" on Saturday. I lost 1.3 kg the first week. While looking for my medication, i meet a very helpful and friendly pharmacist in TTDI Plaza in Taman Tun not far from my place. The place is called PURE AID...and the pharmacist is Ms Lim or Chun Cu/CC.

Coming back from Bangkok feeling so tired, that weekend felt so worn out so I decided to have some lazy times in Pangkor. I drove to Lumut on Friday evening and stay overnite there before going to Pangkor the next morning. This was not my first time there, but this time i went snorkelling...it is nothing compare to Perhentian Island and Redang....just to join the crowd..hehhe

I also had a chance to visit Royal Malaysian Airforce base in Subang to see some displays of their aircrafts and airshow. The morning I went there was very hot yet, thousands of people were there to see the displays and the airshow. It was very good. Over there I met my friend Johan ( the Air Asia Pilot who I met on my way back from Surabaya) with his child. Out of my excitement, I thought of my friend Izwan and his son Hafiz who are jet fighter enthusiast. I called him and of course he went later that afternoon. Hazif was so happy I believe. Hope to see Captain Hafiz piloting one of those jets one day....

After the whole day of walking and shopping we stopped at one of the booths which promoting their health products. The booth was promoting Fish Spa which I had heard about it but never tried it. So Muna and I decided to try. We Paid RM 30 for half an hour treatment. First we washed our feet and slowly soaked them in reasonably big tank letting the fish to feed on the dead cell of our skin....It was very ticklish at first but we got used to it after a while. The fish were so smart, they all concentrated on the " problem" area and gradually moved to the other parts. So amazed by how they worked together and so systematically. After 15 minutes we moved the bigger tank with bigger fish inside...It was fun and relaxing...In no time the 30 minutes was up...We enjoyed it though! Should try guys!

The Curve N Cineleisure

Today I had a chance to go to The Curve and Cineleisure which are very close to my place. There were so many people there. I saw a very interesting activity there called "floor Combat". It is for youngsters to show their talent on dancing arena...They were in groups, challenging each other to show off their dance skills...like black street dance...It seems rough but i think it is a very healthy sport...I was so amazed by how these youngsters twist and bend...their agility on the floor impressed me...whoever organized it...good work.

On my way back to KL once again I drove using the East West Highway...I left Kb early morning...Man!! Titiwangsa is still beautiful with its Flora and Fauna but it is very saddening to see some parts of it have been " intruded" by either development or some greedy individuals. About half way across the Titiwangsa Range, we saw a newly dead Tapir- still bleeding by the road side. It must had been hit by a lorry or something. The animal is a higly protected animal...One more is down...sad

I went back to Kota Bharu last week to see my family. I took the East West Highway. That means I drove to Kulim to see my sister there and continued my trip to Kota Bharu by using East West. I prefer this route back to KB as it is an easy driving plus the scenic view that Titiwangsa offers you everytime you drive across. It maybe a bit longer distance and toll at PLUS highway but it is worth using the route. First thing that afternoon...we took Afwan my goodlooking nephew to cut his birthday cake at the beach near Mum's place.

Yesterday I fixed a new curtain that separates living hall and eating area...I employed DIY things and I am proud that it turns out well...It does not only divide the hall but also function as a "wall" that helps to keep cool air to only the living hall. Hovever, the hall looks smaller, so I put some mirrors on the wall next to it...now the mirrors act as a dual function piece of art which its illusional effect adds space to the hall....heheh

It was a good movie with action plus comedy...It was like watching a hybrid of the " Transformer" and "Batman" where an extra rich man came out with a super power suit to safe the world to compensate his mistakes of inventing weapons that brought about a lot of sufferings.

The fun and excitement during the volleyball game had made me forgotten that I have 4 screws in two parts of my main joints. I also forgot that I carried 95kg and a lot years too. Now I am suffering from terrible pain all over my body... Sitting up and down is now an effort to me. I have been taking pain killer for the last 48 hours but still....i hope it will subside soon as i need a good nite sleep...turned and tossed all night long....very frustrating.

Last night, I took part in our Club Volleyball league. It was fun...It has been a long time since I played the game. There were 7 teams all together and our team had to meet all the other six teams...The game started at 12 yesterday and ended up at eleven last nite.... It was great to play with such a good team. I was not as good as I used to be during the college days when I was one of the University Players. Well at this age, plus 2 screws on my knee and 2 on my shoulder, i think i am doing fine...I am no longer a spiker but I am a setter now. Thanks to Amir, Pojie, Tommy, Farish, Ikmal and Is for such a good show last nite...( Thanks Henry for the call)

After a long ordeal of examination, I finally finished them all...once again I left the exam room easy heartedly... I think I nailed both papers. Even though I am not competing with anyone, I guess i have won the marathon. I thought of celebrating it last nite but i had no one to celebrate it with...I finally called one of my friends and we went bowling...mentally tired but excited i did very badly in bowling...but i did very well at supper...hehehe....something that i am always consistent at....EATING!!!

Yesterday after the group discussion...I ran to the market to get all the things I needed for the "steamboat" dinner. Then rushed home to prepare the dinner. Started with my " yummy sauce"...talk about sauce of mine...then the soup...then preparing the "lauk"....chicken, sea food, mushrooms...all sort of vegetables...Made some drinks...arranged them on the table...ON the aircon so when the guests arrived the hall would be cool enough. Finished preparing everything by 7.30. Performed my prayer and they finally arrived at 8.30pm. It was a hard work alright but I am very happy that all of them enjoyed it so much. Came 11 pm they left...leaving me with dirty dishes....cleaned all pots and pans...mopped the floor....cleared the kitchen...tried to do my my assignment but my mind was as tired as my body....went to bed @ 2am. This morning I woke up very early and continued doing my assignments. Managed to finished everything by 4.30pm...What left now is to print the last one out...and tomorrow will submit everything. Tonite and tomorrow morning would be my time to do last reading before sitting for my two final papers tomorrow afternoon at 3pm and at 6 pm. Yeah...it is a handful... Labour day is really a "labour" to me.....Hope things will get easy soon and I can concentrate on my project paper.

I am practically running to settle all my monthly tasks ( bills and banks) plus revisions, assignments, teaching....a handful. On the way back....my car handbrake light was on. I wondered why...stopped at my regular mechanics...mmmm..my rear brakepump was leaking...I asked him to check my aircond too...the thermostat needed to be changed too...RM 400 for both problems....About the car I have nothing to complain...it has been serving me quite well..Once in a while she does that to me is considered ok... she has been with me for more than 5 years...never gives me a big problem yet. Now 20 to midnite...I am still typing my assignments....and checking my students' assignment....tomorrow morning I have an early class...than means leaving home at 7 am. After that I have to rush to a group discussion till 2pm. Then rush home to cook for tomorrow nite small friends gathering....what a day!!!!! Wish me luck
